Why This Project Exists

I've always needed context to make sense of things. Without it, I feel anchorless. A strengths assessment once identified Context as one of my top strengths: the drive to understand what came before so I can clearly see the present. When it comes to Scripture, this shapes everything—to truly hear what the authors were saying, we need to step into their world: their audience, culture, literary patterns, and the stories that shaped them.

Over the years, I've read widely and found incredible insights scattered across books, articles, and commentaries. Project Context exists to bring these essential pieces together in one place—so when you explore a biblical character, book, or theme here, you can quickly grasp the broader interpretive landscape.

🙏 A Special Debt: I owe much to the Bible Project. Their videos, podcasts, classroom, and articles expanded my understanding and showed me how literary design, theology, and ancient worldviews fit together. Much of what shaped this project comes from insights I gained through their generosity in making biblical scholarship accessible.
