An Invitation to Grow as a Speaker of God's Word

This is an invitation—not to a platform—but to a season of formation. A small, Acts-shaped group where men and women grow together in clarity, faithfulness, courage, and love as they learn to speak God's word in ways that build up the church and bear witness to Jesus.

📖 A Call Shaped by Luke–Acts

Luke begins his Gospel with a clear purpose:

"So that you may know the truth concerning the things about which you have been instructed."
— Luke 1:4

What follows is not merely a biography of Jesus, but a carefully investigated, orderly account—rooted in eyewitness testimony—showing that the Messiah must suffer, must rise, and that this message must be proclaimed.

At the close of the Gospel, Jesus makes the meaning unmistakable:

"It is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things."
— Luke 24:46–48

Luke does not end the story there.

In Acts, he continues:

"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
— Acts 1:8

This is the spirit of this invitation.

The same Spirit who empowered the first witnesses continues to guide, form, and send the church today. This formation pathway exists for those who sense that call—to bear witness to Jesus with clarity, faithfulness, humility, and love in their own generation.

This invitation is for those who feel compelled to live into that mission— whether through teaching, encouragement, testimony, or prophetic speech— always for the purpose Scripture gives:

"To build up the church."

Everything that follows on this page flows from that calling.

💬 What This Is

This formation group exists for those who sense a desire—or a nudge from God—to:

Teach Scripture more clearly Encourage others with God's word Share testimony faithfully Grow in prophetic discernment Learn how sermons in Acts actually work

We will read Scripture together (especially the Book of Acts), observe how proclamation happened in the early church, and practice speaking in ways that are grounded, humble, and life-giving.

🎯 What to Expect

This pathway focuses on formation, not performance. We're building character and clarity, not climbing ministry ladders.

✅ Our Focus

  • Growing in faithfulness and clarity
  • Learning together in community
  • Building each other up with kindness
  • Discovering how Scripture shapes speech
  • Moving at a pace that serves formation

🔄 What This Isn't

  • A fast-track to a preaching platform
  • A performance or competition
  • A debate about church polity
  • Public speaking training
  • Pressure to speak before you're ready
Core principle: You participate at your own pace. Growth happens through invitation, never coercion.

👥 Who This Is For

You might be a fit if you:

  • Love Scripture and want to understand it better
  • Sense gifting but want formation, not attention
  • Are teachable and willing to receive feedback
  • Want to learn in community rather than alone
  • Desire to build others up through God's word

What you don't need:

  • Prior preaching experience
  • A theology degree
  • Perfect biblical knowledge
  • Public speaking confidence
  • A specific ministry title
You do need: humility, curiosity, and a desire to build others up.

🛡️ A Safe Place to Learn

This group is intentionally designed to be:

Non-shaming

Growth without embarrassment. Mistakes are expected and welcomed as part of learning.

Non-competitive

No ranking or comparison. Everyone's gifts and growth trajectory are unique.

Communal

No one builds alone. Preparation and feedback happen together, not in isolation.

Feedback is always given to form, not to grade. The goal is spiritual maturity, not performance metrics.

⏱️ What the Commitment Looks Like

Time Investment

  • 8 sessions over 8-10 weeks (flexible schedule)
  • 90 minutes per session
  • 30-60 minutes of preparation between sessions
  • 1-2 practice opportunities during the pathway

What You'll Do

  • Read Scripture passages (mostly from Acts)
  • Discuss observations and patterns together
  • Practice skills in safe, short formats
  • Give and receive forming feedback
  • Encourage others in the group
You will never be asked to prepare a full sermon on your own. All preparation is supported by the team.

🚀 Interested?

If this invitation resonates, the next step is simply to learn more. There's no pressure to commit immediately.

This is not about who gets to speak.
It's about forming people who can faithfully point others to Jesus.
We focus on formation and discernment of gifts, trusting participants and their communities to determine appropriate ministry contexts.
